Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program
Scholarship Amount: Up to $40,000 payable over 4 years based on renewal
Amazon’s Future Engineer scholarship targets high school seniors intending to be registered in a four year college the following year and planning to major in computer science or a related field. Applicants must also be taking or have taken one of the AP Computer Science courses (or taken one of the AP Computer Science exams). In the selection of winners, financial need and racial/ethnic/gender diversity are considered. The annual amount of $10,000 is awarded for a total of four years based on maintaining the scholarship requirements. The scholarship also includes a paid summer internship at Amazon after completion of the freshman year in college.
AWS InCommunities Scholarship Program
Scholarship Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable up to 3 years.
Open to high school seniors planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college, university, or vocational technical school as a full-time student majoring in a STEM related field. Eligibility is restricted to students in high schools found in communities designated by Amazon Web Services (AWS). A list of included locations across the country may be found in the link below. Up to 40 new awards in the amount of $2,500 will be made each year. The site states that preference will be given to minority populations underrepresented in STEM.
American Indian Science and Engineering Society Intel Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $5,000 for undergraduates
Information: The Intel Growing the Legacy scholarship supports both undergraduate and graduate full time study for students with Tribal membership. While the award does not automatically renew, awardees are encouraged to reapply. Selection also includes a paid internship at Intel.
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Information: Applicants for the BAM scholarship must be high-school seniors of African or African American descent, planning to attend a four-year college or university upon high school graduation, and planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs. Awardees are encouraged to apply for renewal.
Buildium Women in Technology Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Information: The scholarship is open to women studying in a STEM field at an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in the U.S. or Canada. The winner is selected based on a 1,000 word essay submission about an inspirational female leader at a technology company.
CyberCorps Scholarship for Service
Scholarship Amount: $25,000 stipend plus Tuition for undergraduates
Information: The program provides support for up to 3 years of cybersecurity related undergraduate or graduate studies. Recipients must agree to work for the U.S. Government in a job related to cybersecurity for a term equal to the length of the scholarship award.
Scholarship Amount: $25,000
Information: The Dell Scholars program is both a scholarship and college-completion support program. The program assists students in the “academic middle” who come from low-income households and often represent the first in their families to attend college.
Entertainment Software Association Foundation
Scholarship Amount: $3,000
Information: Applicants to the ESA Foundation Scholarship program must be either women and/or minority students who are pursuing degrees focussed on careers in computer and video game arts. Applicants must also be enrolled full-time at an accredited, four-year college.
The Gates Millennium Scholarship Program
Scholarship Amount: Varies depending on the level of need
Information: Gates Millennium Scholars receive both a scholarship and academic empowerment services. Program applicants generally come from African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American and Hispanic American students with significant financial need and high academic and leadership promise. Applicants should be in one of the disciplines of computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health and the sciences. Scholarship is renewable annually.
Scholarship Amount: $10,000
Google’s one-time scholarship aims to help aspiring computer scientists and strongly encourages students who identify as members of historically underrepresented groups in technology to apply. High school seniors, college students and graduate students are all eligible, but only college students or graduate students will also be invited to a Google Scholars’ Retreat over the summer. Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in technology and plan to major or currently enrolled in computer science or a related field.
Scholarship Amount: Ranges from $500 - $10,000
Information: The GM iS Scholarship is open to any graduating high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student from a traditionally underserved or underrepresented group in a STEM or health field. The awards are for one year, but applicants are allowed to apply again in the regular pool.
Scholarship Amount: Ranges from $500 to $5,000
Information: The HSF Scholarship program assists students of Hispanic heritage achieve a college degree and is open to high school seniors and undergraduates planning to attend a four-year university in the fall of the scholarship year. Award selection is based on merit, but the amount of the scholarship is based on relative need. All majors and fields of study eligible, but emphasis exists on STEM majors.
Latinos in Technology Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: Up to $30,000 payable over four years based on renewal
Information: The Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley established the scholarship to support students of Latino or Hispanic origin with a declared major in or accepted into a STEM field of study. Applicants must have graduated from a high school in one of several Northern California counties or attend a college in one of these Northern California counties. Applicants should be in their junior or senior year at a 4-year undergraduate college or university.
National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering
Scholarship Amount: Varies depending on the program
Information: NACME scholarships applicants must be either a high school senior applying to or current undergraduate in an engineering or computer science program at one of the NACME Partner Institutions. NACME’s mission focuses on increasing the number of Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic-American and Native/American Indian in the fields of engineering and computer science.
NCWIT/Aspirations in Computing
Scholarship Amount: Cash prizes vary depending on award level
Information: The NCWIT AiC award honors 9th through 12th grade students who identify as women for their computing-related achievements and interests. Applicants may win at either the regional and/or national level and may reapply each year except for National Award winners.
NSHSS Claes Nobel Academic Scholarships
Scholarship Amount: $1,000 or $5,000
Information: This scholarship award is open to high school juniors or seniors. With a single application, applicants apply to two different scholarships. The National Society of High School Scholars Foundation supports scholarships targeted to diverse and outstanding students interested in pursuing careers that fuel the global economy, stimulate innovation and creativity, and yield a strong ethical foundation for decision-making. The group is especially interested in increasing the representation of African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, and females in careers where these targeted groups are underrepresented.
NSHSS Innovation in Artificial Intelligence/Robotics Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Information: The National Society of High School Scholars Foundation supports this scholarship for high school seniors or college freshmen, sophomores, or juniors. It specifically requests a personal statement related to how Artificial Intelligence may affect humanity, society, culture, or a project conceptualizing this idea.

Palantir Women in Technology Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $7,000
Information: Palantir’s scholarship aims to support women beginning careers in technology, specifically in computer science, engineering and technical studies. The one-time award includes an all expenses paid trip to Palantir’s headquarters in Palo Alto, California. Applicants must be women who are either freshmen, sophomores or juniors majoring in or plan to major in a STEM field.
Scholarship Amount: $4,000
Information: The annual award, renewable for up to 5 years, is awarded to 2-7 high school seniors with demonstrated achievement in math and science courses, from an underrepresented group in technology fields, with a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, and with demonstrated financial need.
Scholarship Amount: Varies depending on program
Information: The SWE provides scholarships for women studying in programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, and computer science. Applicants must be attending a community college, baccalaureate, or graduate program.
Women Techmakers Scholarship (Also known as Google Anita Borg Scholarship)
Scholarship Amount: $10,000
Information: Formerly known as Google Anita Borg Scholarship, the Women Techmakers Scholars Program awards scholarships based on the impact on diversity, demonstrated leadership, and academic background of applicants. It expects candidates to be currently enrolled in an accredited university and be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field or be studying video game programming, game engineering, game design and development, or a closely related field in gaming. The awards are one-time scholarships and past recipients are ineligible to reapply.
Xerox Minority Technical Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $1,000 to $10,000
Information: The Xerox scholarship provides funding for minority students enrolled in one of the technical sciences or engineering disciplines as a full-time student. Applicants must also be of African American, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Alaskan, or Hispanic heritage.
